How Bioanalytix works
How Bioanalytix connects genetic evidence with longevity and long-term financial planning.
Bioanalytix connects information about your biology with the assumptions used in long-term financial planning.
It does this without assuming that genetics can predict your future.
1. Start with you
A financial plan begins with information such as your age, household, assets, income, spending, retirement objectives and other planning assumptions.
These establish your current financial position and the future you are presently planning for.
2. Add genetic observations
If you choose to use DNA with Bioanalytix, the platform identifies a limited set of genetic observations relevant to its supported evidence model.
The raw DNA file is not itself a financial forecast.
Each observation must be interpreted in the context of the scientific evidence associated with that variant, gene, phenotype and population.
3. Connect observations to evidence
Bioanalytix separates the observation from its interpretation.
A genetic variant may be associated with a biological pathway, disease susceptibility, health characteristic or phenotype. The strength and relevance of that association can vary considerably.
Bioanalytix therefore considers factors such as:
- strength and replication of the scientific evidence;
- size and nature of the reported effect;
- population and ancestry considerations;
- whether the evidence concerns association, susceptibility or causation;
- limitations of the underlying research; and
- whether newer evidence changes the interpretation.
4. Explore longevity and health uncertainty
Genetic evidence cannot determine an individual's lifespan.
It may, however, add context to questions involving health, resilience, age-related disease and longevity.
Bioanalytix uses that context to help explore a range of plausible planning scenarios rather than produce a predicted date of death.
5. Translate uncertainty into planning questions
A different planning horizon can affect many financial questions:
- How long might retirement assets need to last?
- How sensitive is the plan to retiring earlier?
- How could healthcare or care costs affect the plan?
- How much liquidity may be desirable?
- How might different withdrawal strategies perform?
- How might different investment assumptions change sustainability?
- What assets might remain for an estate?
Bioanalytix allows these questions to be explored together.
6. Keep evidence and decisions separate
Bioanalytix provides evidence and scenario analysis.
It does not turn a genetic observation directly into a medical instruction, financial product recommendation or investment trade.
The purpose is to improve the information available for long-term thinking while keeping uncertainty visible.
